Other honorees are Elder Michael Cummings, who does violence prevention work in the Jordan Downs Public Housing Complex of Watts, and the late Dr. Su Yon Park, who pioneered making mental health services available to Oakland youth exposed to violence. The honorees were chosen by TCWF in recognition of their dedication to providing alternatives to violence in crime and violence prone communities.
“For two decades, our Foundation has honored individuals who have displayed great courage and leadership in preventing violence in California communities,” said Dr. Diana M. Bontá, president and CEO of TCWF.
