Oakland Unite’s Violence Prevention Coordinator, Kevin Grant, honored by The California Wellness Foundation as one of its three 20th Annual California Peace Prize Honorees.

In Los Angeles on December 12th, The California Wellness Foundation (TCWF) will present the Annual California Peace Prize and award $25,000 to Kevin Grant, Violence Prevention Coordinator. Other honorees are Elder Michael Cummings, who does violence prevention work in the Jordan Downs Public Housing Complex of Watts, and the late Dr. Su Yon Park, who pioneered making mental health services available to Oakland youth exposed to violence.  The honorees were chosen by TCWF in recognition of their dedication to providing alternatives to violence in crime and violence prone communities.

“For two decades, our Foundation has honored individuals who have displayed great courage and leadership in preventing violence in California communities,” said Dr. Diana M. Bontá, president and CEO of TCWF.

Oakland Unite joins TCWF’s leadership in celebrating “their inspired passion that has made a remarkable impact on communities working toward a healthier and safer California.”
