Oakland Unite Street Outreach Worker Training

Oakland Unite Street Outreach Workers received a three-day training at the beginning of April.

The Street Outreach Training was a three-day training full of team building and learning. Street Outreach teams were able to connect with Oakland Unite partners including employment providers and partners in the crisis support network that help individuals and families affected by shootings and homicides. They also learned about public speaking, presenting evaluation data, setting boundaries with clients and managing stress and burn-out. During the training the Street Outreach teams further developed their conflict mediation and communication skills and learned more about how they fit into the broader violence prevention framework in Oakland. Oakland Unite would like to recognize Oakland Unite Program Planner Josie Halpern-Finnerty and Oakland Unite Violence Prevention Network Coordinator Kevin Grant for all their hard work in making this training successful.
