Oakland Unite Street Outreach Workers Recognized at Oakland Neighborhood Champion Awards

Oakland Unite Street Outreach Workers were recognized in East Oakland on Saturday, March 8th as “neighborhood champions” that contributed to the reduction of violence in East Oakland in 2013. The Oakland California Youth Outreach Workers were specifically recognized for the role they play in the community as violence interrupters. This awards ceremony, hosted by the Oakland Police Foundation, also recognized many of the people and organizations that have contributed to violence prevention and intervention, such as Ceasefire faith partners.
