Messengers4Change Parks Program Youth Squad Leaders Orientation
Oakland Unite’s Messengers4Change will kick-off the Friday Summer Nights at the Parks Program on July 11th.
In preparation for the six week Friday nights event, on July 1, 2 and 3rd Messengers4Change hosted an orientation for its Youth Squad Leaders. The youth are hired through the Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program to work at both Willie Wilkins Park on 98th Avenue and Carter Gilmore Park on 66th Avenue. At the orientation the youth learned about Oakland Unite, Messengers4Change and community engagement.
They were also certified in CPR.
