Messengers4Change partnered with the nonprofit Urban Peace Movement for the the “Stop the Killings and Start the Healing” campaign. This campaign was organized and produced by teen members of the Urban Peace Movement Ambassadors’ program. Messengers4Change sponsored billboards placed along International Boulevard that show photos of family members holding pictures of loved ones they have lost in the hands of gun violence. They are intended to raise public awareness of the prevalence of gun violence in East Oakland and how it affects young people.
