Spring Cycle Notification of Funding Availability: Oakland Unite Community Healing Mini-Grants
Oakland Unite Community Healing Mini-Grants Opportunity
Community Healing Mini-Grants support innovative, resident-led, and community-based violence reduction projects
Oakland Unite is proud to announce the Community Healing Mini-Grants funding opportunity for the Spring cycle, in partnership with Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth (RJOY), Urban Peace Movement (UPM), Communities United for Restorative Youth Justice (CURYJ), Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS), and Roots Community Health Center.
In this cycle, approximately $200,000 in Mini-Grant funding from the City of Oakland will be issued through Oakland Unite’s Community Healing partner agencies. Mini-Grants of up to $10,000 for small non-profit organizations (with an annual budget of less than $500,000) and up to $5,000 for individuals (with an identified fiscal sponsor) will be awarded.
Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2020.

2019 Friday Summer Nights Programs Are Here!!!
Starting last Friday, The Human Services Department’s Oakland Unite division kicked off the 2019 Friday Summer Nights program, in partnership with Hoover/Foster Resident Action Council, Friends of Hacienda Peralta Historical Park, and Roots Community Health Center, at three locations Oakland! Friday Summer Nights aims to change community norms around violence through community engagement, celebration, and empowerment. Join a location near you and enjoy a Friday night with the City this summer.
All events are free and open to community members of all ages. Events include free food, games, entertainment, and raffles! Check out the fliers below.

Oakland Unite Funding Recommendations Approved
On Tuesday June 19 Oakland City Council approved the Oakland Unite funding recommendations for the July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020 funding period. Oakland Unite is excited to welcome new and returning grantees!

Human Services Department Request for Qualifications: For Professional Services
The City of Oakland is pleased to release a Request for Qualificaitons (RFQ) to provide professional services for the Human Services Department for services initiated during the July 2019 through June 2022 period. Services include (but are not limited to) research and evaluation, marketing and communication, strategic planning, training and capacity building for community providers, as well as capacity building for workforce providers and employer engagement.
