Oakland Unite Hosts Professional Development Training

Restorative Trauma-Informed Practices Training

On Wednesday, May 21, 2014, Oakland Unite hosted a professional development training titled Restorative Trauma-Informed Practices lead by Cindy Hill-Ford from Catholic Charities of the East Bay. The training focused on restorative justice, trauma-informed practices and traumatic grief work. These best practices are critical to the work done by Oakland Unite and its funded agencies. This is especially true because a high percentage of participants often have multiple exposures to violence and trauma. Professional development trainings allow Oakland Unite  and its programs to stay up-to-date on current best practices around violence prevention and intervention and share information about how to apply these practices to this important work.
